Vulkan Line In-line Pressure Regulator for Technical Gases LR 60

The Vulkan LR 60 is a single-stage in-line fin pressure regulator for high-flow technical gas pipeline systems requiring elevated outlet pressure up to 60 bar from 100 bar inlet. Combines the high throughput of the fin regulator design with the extended pressure range needed for demanding industrial gas distribution and process gas applications. Complies with ISO 5171.

Description

The Vulkan LR 60 is the highest-pressure model in the Vulkan LR-class in-line fin regulator range, designed for industrial gas pipeline systems where the outlet pressure requirement extends to 60 bar at high continuous flow. Applications include high-pressure process gas distribution headers, specialty laser assist gas networks, autoclaves and high-pressure industrial process lines where both the pressure level and the throughput exceed the capability of compact single-stage regulators.

The fin body design provides the same thermal performance advantage as the LR 20 and LR 40 — a significantly larger external heat exchange surface that allows sustained high-flow operation at elevated pressure without the frosting and pressure instability that affect compact regulators at their thermal and flow limits. The rubber diaphragm with VA stainless steel execution for oxygen service provides material compatibility across the gas range.

The 15–60 bar adjustable outlet pressure range combined with 100 bar inlet capability makes the LR 60 suitable as a pipeline distribution stage downstream of high-pressure manifold or cylinder regulator outputs. The G 3/4 RH connections and polyamide/NBR seal construction are consistent with the LR 40, allowing installation in the same pipeline system using the same fitting standard.

Safety gauges are to ISO 5171. The leakage rate of 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar l/s confirms helium-leak-proof assembly. The LR 60 is the natural endpoint of the Vulkan fin regulator series at the in-line pipeline level, above which the LH 25 and LH 40 high-pressure in-line regulators cover the next pressure class.

Key Advantages

  • Top pressure class in the Vulkan LR fin regulator series: 15–60 bar outlet from 100 bar inlet.
  • Fin design for sustained high-flow operation at elevated pressure without frosting or instability.
  • Covers high-pressure process gas distribution, laser assist gas and specialty industrial circuit duties.
  • Rubber diaphragm with VA stainless steel execution for oxygen-compatible high-pressure service.
  • G 3/4 RH connections consistent with LR 40 for installation in the same pipeline standard.
  • Safety gauges according to ISO 5171; helium-leak-proof with 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar l/s.
  • Available for oxygen, CO₂/argon, helium, nitrogen, hydrogen and compressed air.

Food-Gas / Compliance Positioning

This regulator can be positioned for food-gas projects when ordered with the appropriate wetted materials, elastomers, cleanliness level and documentation package. Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 defines the basic requirement that materials in contact with food must not transfer substances in quantities that could endanger health or unacceptably change the composition or organoleptic properties of food. Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 adds GMP requirements for controlled manufacturing processes. In Germany, LFGB is part of the legal framework used for control of food-contact materials and articles.
