Description
Vulkan Dome Regulators LD 1 MD / LD 1 ND / LDS1 are engineered for precise line pressure reduction in industrial gas supply systems where conventional spring-loaded regulators often lose stability under changing inlet pressure or fluctuating consumption. The dome-loaded control principle delivers more stable downstream pressure, reduced pressure flutter and better control behaviour under variable inlet pressure and flow demand.
This product family is structured as one scalable platform: the LD 1 ND for lower-pressure duties up to 25 bar inlet and 24 bar outlet; the LD 1 MD for medium-pressure service up to 100 bar inlet and 99 bar outlet (oxygen: 40 bar inlet / 39 bar outlet); and the LDS1 as a complete assembled dome regulator unit with pilot regulator and optional gauge configurations for integrated pressure control packages.
The standard LD/LDS construction uses a brass body, EPDM/Viton seals, EPDM diaphragm, G 1 RH female inlet and outlet connections and a verified leakage rate of 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar l/s. The family supports oxygen, inert gases, CO₂/argon, helium, nitrogen, hydrogen and compressed air through gas-specific variants and article numbers, and is positioned in the technical gas segment with application according to ISO 5171 and suitability for technical gases up to grade 4.5.

Food-Gas / Compliance Positioning
This regulator can be positioned for food-gas projects when ordered with the appropriate wetted materials, elastomers, cleanliness level and documentation package. Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 defines the basic requirement that materials in contact with food must not transfer substances in quantities that could endanger health or unacceptably change the composition or organoleptic properties of food. Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 adds GMP requirements for controlled manufacturing processes. In Germany, LFGB is part of the legal framework used for control of food-contact materials and articles.
