Description
The Vulkan L 15/2 is a double-stage in-line pressure regulator designed for technical gas pipeline systems where the outlet pressure requirement is in the low-pressure range of 0–1.5 bar and where pressure stability under variable flow conditions is critical. The double-stage architecture reduces pipeline pressure to the working level in two controlled steps, limiting outlet pressure droop and providing more consistent downstream pressure than a single-stage design — a relevant difference in analytical instrumentation, process control and laboratory gas feed applications.
With a 20 bar inlet pressure rating and up to 5 Nm³/h at 1.5 bar outlet, the L 15/2 is suited to low-flow, precision-pressure pipeline applications such as analytical gas feeds, specialty process gas lines and calibration gas supply circuits where stable pressure directly affects measurement quality or process outcome. The EPDM diaphragm, polyamide seals and G 1/2 RH connections are the standard construction.
Safety gauges are to ISO 5171. The leakage rate of 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar l/s confirms helium-leak-proof assembly. The L 15/2 occupies the low-pressure double-stage position in the Vulkan in-line regulator range, providing the enhanced stability of two-stage reduction at a pressure class that covers acetylene-equivalent low-pressure distribution and precision gas delivery applications.
For single-stage low-pressure duty in the same pressure class, the L 10 provides a simpler alternative. Where the improved stability of the double-stage L 15/2 is specified, no single-stage alternative in the same pressure range can match the outlet pressure consistency under variable demand.
Key Advantages
- Double-stage design provides significantly more stable 0–1.5 bar outlet pressure than single-stage alternatives.
- Enhanced pressure stability under variable flow for analytical, laboratory and precision process applications.
- EPDM diaphragm and polyamide seals for broad gas compatibility.
- G 1/2 RH connections for standard industrial pipeline integration.
- Safety gauges according to ISO 5171; helium-leak-proof with 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar l/s.
- Available for oxygen, CO₂/argon, helium, nitrogen, hydrogen and compressed air.
- 20 bar inlet rating suitable for standard reduced-pressure pipeline supply stages.
Food-Gas / Compliance Positioning
This regulator can be positioned for food-gas projects when ordered with the appropriate wetted materials, elastomers, cleanliness level and documentation package. Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 defines the basic requirement that materials in contact with food must not transfer substances in quantities that could endanger health or unacceptably change the composition or organoleptic properties of food. Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 adds GMP requirements for controlled manufacturing processes. In Germany, LFGB is part of the legal framework used for control of food-contact materials and articles.
