Description
The Vulkan LP 216-1.6 is a single-stage precision in-line pressure regulator for technical gas pipeline systems where precise outlet pressure control in the low range of 0.01–1.6 bar is required. It shares the same body, connections and construction as the LP 216-0.6 but provides a wider outlet pressure adjustment range, making it suitable for applications where the working pressure may vary between near-zero and 1.6 bar, such as specialty analytical instruments, low-pressure gas blending systems, calibration gas supply and laboratory bench-top gas feeds.
The aluminium zinc die-cast body with NBR diaphragm and G 3/8 RH connections provides a compact and lightweight installation footprint — 108 mm width, 162 mm height — suited to panel mounting, instrument board integration and bench-top laboratory gas supply units. The 21 bar inlet pressure rating covers the standard reduced-pressure pipeline supply level for laboratory gas distribution systems.
The leakage rate of 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar l/s confirms helium-leak-proof construction throughout the operating range. The safety gauge provides on-unit pressure indication for direct operating status visibility. At 50 Nm³/h maximum flow at 1.6 bar, the LP 216-1.6 has sufficient capacity for single-instrument and multi-instrument low-flow analytical supply duties.
The choice between the LP 216-0.6 and the LP 216-1.6 is made on the basis of the maximum outlet pressure required: where the downstream working pressure is always below 0.6 bar, the LP 216-0.6 provides finer adjustment resolution; where the working pressure may reach up to 1.6 bar, the LP 216-1.6 covers the full range.

Food-Gas / Compliance Positioning
This regulator can be positioned for food-gas projects when ordered with the appropriate wetted materials, elastomers, cleanliness level and documentation package. Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 defines the basic requirement that materials in contact with food must not transfer substances in quantities that could endanger health or unacceptably change the composition or organoleptic properties of food. Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 adds GMP requirements for controlled manufacturing processes. In Germany, LFGB is part of the legal framework used for control of food-contact materials and articles.
