Description
The Vulkan LHR 1/400 is a single-stage in-line pressure regulator for technical gas pipelines where the downstream working pressure falls in the 100–400 mbar range — above the LHR 1/200 upper limit and below the LHR 1/700 lower working threshold. It covers process gas supply lines, industrial burner distribution systems, gas mixing circuits and other low-pressure applications where neither the 200 mbar nor the 700 mbar model provides the correct outlet pressure window for the installation.
The aluminium body with PTFE diaphragm and NBR seals is consistent with the full LHR series construction standard. The G 1/2 RH inlet and G 3/4 RH outlet connections allow direct integration into standard low-pressure pipeline fittings, and the dimensions of 160 × 180 × 160 mm at 2.0 kg are identical across the LHR series, allowing the LHR 1/400 to be installed in the same panel or wall-mount position as other LHR models without modifying the installation design. The leakage rate of 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar l/s confirms helium-leak-proof construction.
With up to 47 Nm³/h at 400 mbar from 6 bar inlet, the LHR 1/400 sits between the 35 Nm³/h of the LHR 1/200 and the 60 Nm³/h of the LHR 1/700, providing proportionally scaled flow capacity for the mid-range mbar pressure class. This makes it suitable for distribution headers where the LHR 1/200 is at the upper limit of its pressure range and the LHR 1/700 would operate at the bottom of its adjustment window — a conditions where pressure setting accuracy is reduced.
The regulator is supplied without gauge as standard. An optional gauge is available at extra charge. The LHR 1/400 completes the Vulkan LHR series alongside the LHR 1/45 (5–45 mbar), LHR 1/200 (20–200 mbar) and LHR 1/700 (150–700 mbar), giving system designers a continuous product family from 5 mbar to 700 mbar in a single consistent aluminium regulator platform.
Key Advantages
- 100–400 mbar outlet range fills the gap between the LHR 1/200 and LHR 1/700 pressure classes.
- Precise pressure setting in the mid-range mbar window avoids operating LHR 1/200 or LHR 1/700 at the extremes of their adjustment range.
- Aluminium body with PTFE diaphragm — lightweight, corrosion-resistant, consistent with the full LHR series.
- Identical dimensions to LHR 1/200 and LHR 1/700: drop-in replacement in the same panel or wall-mount position.
- G 1/2 RH inlet and G 3/4 RH outlet for standard low-pressure pipeline integration.
- Helium-leak-proof with leakage rate of 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar l/s.
- Gauge optionally available — configurable for instrumented and bare pipeline installations.
Food-Gas / Compliance Positioning
This regulator can be positioned for food-gas projects when ordered with the appropriate wetted materials, elastomers, cleanliness level and documentation package. Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 defines the basic requirement that materials in contact with food must not transfer substances in quantities that could endanger health or unacceptably change the composition or organoleptic properties of food. Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 adds GMP requirements for controlled manufacturing processes. In Germany, LFGB is part of the legal framework used for control of food-contact materials and articles.
