Vulkan Modula Vareo BS 70 (Base station, 300 bar)

The Vulkan Modula Vareo BS 70 is a modular base station for 300 bar cylinder and bundle manifold systems, delivering 0–40 bar adjustable outlet pressure up to 120 Nm³/h. Based on the BS 60 platform with an H 40 Effect manifold regulator, it is designed for higher-pressure central gas supply applications for oxygen and technical gases except acetylene.

Description

The Vulkan Modula Vareo BS 70 is the 40 bar variant of the Modula Vareo base station series, built on the same distributing block platform as the BS 60 but equipped with an H 40 Effect manifold regulator according to ISO 7291. It is designed for central gas supply installations where the downstream system operates at pressures above the standard 20 bar class — including laser assist gas networks, higher-pressure process lines and specialty industrial gas distribution systems. The H 40 Effect regulator incorporates the Vulkan high-pressure compensation system for stable outlet pressure as the cylinder depletes, with a stainless steel diaphragm execution for oxygen service.

The Modula Vareo distributing block integrates two shut-off valves, two non-return valves and two sintered metal filters in a single compact body. This eliminates the need for separate rail systems and reduces connection points, resulting in a compact and maintenance-friendly base station. The assembly is completed on a stainless steel base plate with a contact gauge and main shut-off valve.

Like all base stations in the Modula Vareo series, the BS 70 is part of the modular add-on platform and can be expanded at any time by connecting additional manifold stations VS to increase the number of cylinders or bundles feeding the system. This makes the BS 70 suitable for central supply points where gas demand may increase over time without requiring a full system replacement.

The BS 70 is available with an optional gas pre-heater GPH 200 or GPH 400, which is particularly relevant at 40 bar outlet pressure and high flow rates where the Joule-Thomson cooling effect during decompression is more pronounced.

Key Advantages

  • H 40 Effect regulator with high-pressure compensation for stable outlet pressure up to 40 bar.
  • Stainless steel diaphragm execution for oxygen service at higher outlet pressure.
  • Compact Vareo distributing block integrates shut-off valves, non-return valves and sintered filters.
  • Modular add-on platform: expandable with manifold stations VS to increase cylinder capacity.
  • Higher 40 bar outlet class covers laser assist gas, process lines and specialty distribution duties.
  • Optional gas pre-heater GPH 200 or GPH 400 for high-flow and high-pressure installations.
  • Complete on stainless steel base plate; leakage rate 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar l/s.

Food-Gas / Compliance Positioning

This base station can be positioned for food-gas projects when ordered with the appropriate wetted materials, elastomers, cleanliness level and documentation package. Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 defines the basic requirement that materials in contact with food must not transfer substances in quantities that could endanger health or unacceptably change the composition or organoleptic properties of food. Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 adds GMP requirements for controlled manufacturing processes. In Germany, LFGB is part of the legal framework used for control of food-contact materials and articles.
