Vulkan Modula Vareo BS 60 (Base station, 300 bar)

The Vulkan Modula Vareo BS 60 is a modular base station for 300 bar cylinder and bundle manifold systems, equipped with an H 20 Effect manifold regulator and delivering 0–20 bar adjustable outlet pressure up to 75 Nm³/h. Part of the expandable Modula Vareo add-on system for oxygen and technical gases except acetylene.

Description

The Vulkan Modula Vareo BS 60 is the standard 20 bar base station in the Modula Vareo series, designed for central gas supply systems fed from 300 bar cylinders or bundles. The assembly consists of one distributing block Vareo with two inlets for 2×1 cylinders or 2×1 bundles — or for connection to further distributing blocks Vareo — one H 20 Effect manifold regulator according to ISO 7291 with adiabatic compression testing, one main shut-off valve and a contact gauge, all mounted on a stainless steel base plate. The H 20 Effect regulator incorporates the Vulkan high-pressure compensation system, which keeps the outlet pressure constant as the cylinder depletes and prevents the pressure increase and excess gas consumption that uncompensated regulators produce.

The Modula Vareo distributing block integrates two shut-off valves to isolate cylinders or bundles, two non-return valves to prevent reverse flow into empty cylinders, and two sintered metal filters to protect the manifold from particulate contamination. This compact block construction eliminates the need for separate rail components and reduces the number of threaded connections in the system, simplifying installation and maintenance.

The Modula Vareo system is a modular add-on platform: the BS 60 base station can be extended at any time by connecting additional manifold stations VS, each accommodating two further cylinders or bundles, without modifying the base unit. This makes the BS 60 suitable for installations where the initial supply requirement may grow. Optional purge valves are available for each inlet position.

The BS 60 is also available with an incorporated gas pre-heater GPH 200 or GPH 400 for high-flow applications where gas cooling from cylinder decompression could affect downstream equipment or process performance.

Key Advantages

  • H 20 Effect regulator with high-pressure compensation delivers stable outlet pressure as cylinders deplete.
  • Compact Vareo distributing block integrates shut-off valves, non-return valves and sintered filters in one body.
  • Modular add-on platform: expandable with manifold stations VS without replacing the base unit.
  • 0–20 bar adjustable outlet pressure covers standard central gas supply and distribution duties.
  • Available with gas pre-heater GPH 200 or GPH 400 for high-flow and low-temperature installations.
  • Complete on stainless steel base plate with contact gauge; leakage rate 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar l/s.
  • Suitable for oxygen, nitrogen, argon, CO₂, helium, hydrogen and compressed air.

Food-Gas / Compliance Positioning

This base station can be positioned for food-gas projects when ordered with the appropriate wetted materials, elastomers, cleanliness level and documentation package. Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 defines the basic requirement that materials in contact with food must not transfer substances in quantities that could endanger health or unacceptably change the composition or organoleptic properties of food. Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 adds GMP requirements for controlled manufacturing processes. In Germany, LFGB is part of the legal framework used for control of food-contact materials and articles.
