Description
The Vulkan L 60 is a single-stage in-line pressure regulator designed for technical gas pipeline systems where the downstream working pressure requirement extends into the 60 bar range. Applications include high-pressure process gas lines, specialty laser assist gas circuits, high-pressure test rigs and distribution systems where a 40 bar outlet class is insufficient and a further pressure reduction stage in the pipeline is required.
The brass body, PTFE diaphragm with stainless steel execution for oxygen service and G 1/2 RH connections are the standard construction. Safety gauges are to ISO 5171. The leakage rate of 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar l/s confirms helium-leak-proof assembly across the full working pressure range.
The L 60 extends the Vulkan single-stage in-line regulator range above the L 40 pressure class, covering the higher-pressure distribution duties that fall between standard pipeline regulators and high-pressure in-line regulators such as the LH 25 or LH 40 class. For installations requiring the same 60 bar outlet pressure with higher flow capacity, the LR 60 high-flow fin regulator is the natural step up within the Vulkan in-line range.
The 100 bar inlet pressure rating allows the L 60 to be positioned directly downstream of manifold regulators or cylinder regulators operating at elevated output pressure, providing a controlled second reduction stage before the process or instrument connection point.
Key Advantages
- Single-stage design for in-line pressure reduction at 0–60 bar from 100 bar inlet.
- Covers high-pressure process gas, laser assist gas and specialty distribution circuit requirements.
- PTFE diaphragm with stainless steel execution for oxygen-compatible high-pressure service.
- Safety gauges according to ISO 5171; helium-leak-proof with 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar l/s.
- G 1/2 RH connections for direct industrial pipeline integration.
- Available for oxygen, CO₂/argon, helium, nitrogen, hydrogen and compressed air.
- Natural step-up to LR 60 fin regulator for higher flow at the same pressure class.
Food-Gas / Compliance Positioning
This regulator can be positioned for food-gas projects when ordered with the appropriate wetted materials, elastomers, cleanliness level and documentation package. Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 defines the basic requirement that materials in contact with food must not transfer substances in quantities that could endanger health or unacceptably change the composition or organoleptic properties of food. Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 adds GMP requirements for controlled manufacturing processes. In Germany, LFGB is part of the legal framework used for control of food-contact materials and articles.
