Vulkan Modula Vareo BS 50 (Base station, 300 bar)

The Vulkan Modula Vareo BS 50 is a LabLine-series high-purity base station for 300 bar cylinder and bundle manifold systems, equipped with an H 10 Effect manifold regulator and delivering 0–10 bar outlet pressure up to 50 Nm³/h. Chrome-plated brass construction with stainless steel diaphragm and clamp ring 8 mm outlet for high-purity gas service up to grade 5.0.

Description

The Vulkan Modula Vareo BS 50 is the entry-level base station in the Modula Vareo series, designed for high-purity laboratory and technical gas manifold systems operating from 300 bar cylinder or bundle supply. The station consists of one distributing block Vareo with two inlets for 2×1 cylinders or 2×1 bundles — or for connection to further distributing blocks Vareo — one H 10 Effect manifold regulator according to ISO 7291, one main shut-off valve, and purge valves, all mounted on a stainless steel base plate. This is the LabLine version: the brass body is chrome-plated after a vibratory finishing cleaning process to below 100 mg/m² surface fat content, qualifying the entire station for high-purity gas grades up to 5.0.

The H 10 Effect regulator incorporates the Vulkan high-pressure compensation feature, which maintains a constant outlet pressure as the cylinder pressure decreases. This eliminates the pressure rise that occurs with regulators lacking compensation and prevents unnecessary gas consumption increases as cylinders approach depletion. The stainless steel diaphragm and clamp ring 8 mm outlet connection keep contamination risk at laboratory-grade level throughout the supply cycle.

The Modula Vareo system is a modular add-on platform: the BS 50 base station can be expanded at any time by connecting additional manifold stations VS, each accommodating two further cylinders or bundles, without replacing the base unit. This makes the BS 50 the correct starting point for high-purity laboratory gas supply installations that may need to grow with future demand.

The leakage rate of 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar l/s confirms helium-leak-proof construction across the entire wetted path. The base station is available for oxygen, nitrogen, argon, CO₂, helium, hydrogen and compressed air, with gas-specific internal configurations.

Key Advantages

  • LabLine chrome-plated finish with vibratory cleaning for surface fat content below 100 mg/m².
  • Stainless steel diaphragm for high-purity gas service up to grade 5.0.
  • H 10 Effect regulator with high-pressure compensation for stable outlet pressure as cylinders deplete.
  • Modular Vareo add-on system: expandable with additional manifold stations VS without replacing the base unit.
  • Two inlets for 2×1 cylinders or bundles, or connection to further Vareo distributing blocks.
  • Clamp ring 8 mm outlet connection for clean high-purity laboratory piping.
  • Helium-leak-proof with 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar l/s leakage rate; complete on stainless steel base plate.

Food-Gas / Compliance Positioning

This base station can be positioned for food-gas projects when ordered with the appropriate wetted materials, elastomers, cleanliness level and documentation package. Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 defines the basic requirement that materials in contact with food must not transfer substances in quantities that could endanger health or unacceptably change the composition or organoleptic properties of food. Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 adds GMP requirements for controlled manufacturing processes. In Germany, LFGB is part of the legal framework used for control of food-contact materials and articles.
