Description
The Vulkan Modula Vareo BS 80 is the high-flow variant of the Modula Vareo base station series, designed for central gas supply systems where the BS 60 flow capacity of 75 Nm³/h is insufficient. The key difference is the HR 20 Effect manifold fin regulator, which replaces the standard H 20 regulator and delivers up to 170 Nm³/h at 20 bar — more than double the flow of the standard station. The fin regulator design also provides better thermal performance under high flow conditions by increasing the heat exchange surface area, which reduces cooling from Joule-Thomson decompression.
Like all Modula Vareo base stations, the BS 80 is built around the Vareo distributing block, which integrates two shut-off valves, two non-return valves and two sintered metal filters in a single compact body. The assembly includes one main shut-off valve, a contact gauge and mounting on a stainless steel base plate. The modular system allows the base station to be expanded at any time by connecting additional manifold stations VS.
The high-pressure compensation system in the HR 20 Effect regulator maintains constant outlet pressure as the cylinder pressure drops, preventing the pressure increase that drives unnecessary gas consumption in uncompensated systems. This is particularly relevant at high flow rates where pressure stability has a direct impact on downstream process consistency.
The BS 80 is available with an optional incorporated gas pre-heater GPH 200 or GPH 400 for installations where high continuous flow rates require active thermal support to prevent regulator frosting or downstream temperature drop.
Key Advantages
- HR 20 Effect fin regulator delivers up to 170 Nm³/h — more than double the flow of the standard BS 60.
- Fin regulator design improves thermal performance under high continuous flow conditions.
- High-pressure compensation maintains stable 0–20 bar outlet pressure as cylinders deplete.
- Compact Vareo distributing block integrates shut-off valves, non-return valves and sintered filters.
- Modular add-on system: expandable with manifold stations VS without replacing the base unit.
- Optional gas pre-heater GPH 200 or GPH 400 for high-flow installations.
- Complete on stainless steel base plate; leakage rate 1 × 10⁻⁶ mbar l/s.
Food-Gas / Compliance Positioning
This base station can be positioned for food-gas projects when ordered with the appropriate wetted materials, elastomers, cleanliness level and documentation package. Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 defines the basic requirement that materials in contact with food must not transfer substances in quantities that could endanger health or unacceptably change the composition or organoleptic properties of food. Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 adds GMP requirements for controlled manufacturing processes. In Germany, LFGB is part of the legal framework used for control of food-contact materials and articles.
